I
am a life coach who specializes
in midlife career transitions. My
expertise in the area of career
transitions comes from a combination
of both personal and professional
experience. I started
my career path in the field
of education as a junior high
and high school teacher. After
ten years of teaching I decided
to return to school and get
a Masters Degree in Counseling. Upon
completing my counseling internship,
I was hired as a youth and
family counselor at a mental
health agency. I worked
for 4 years doing direct service
work and then was given the
opportunity to move into the
role of program director. Three
years later I was promoted
to associate director of the
agency.
After
working for 12 years in the
nonprofit sector, I decided
it was once again time for
a career change. At
this point in my life, I realized
that my priorities had changed. I
wanted to do something that
was more personally fulfilling, something
that combined my strongest
skills with my deepest passion,
and something that gave me
greater flexibility in my work
schedule. Coaching
seemed like the perfect answer. I
started my own coaching business,
Bailey Coaching, and have helped
people from all walks of life
transition to more personally
satisfying and rewarding careers.
“I
want my clients to succeed.”
As
a coach, it is my mission
to create a safe and respectful
coaching environment in which
my clients feel both supported
and challenged as
they work towards their personal
goals. My coaching
style has been described
as warm, direct, and respectful. I
will push my clients because
I believe in their potential. I
will be there to celebrate
their successes and I will
be there to support them
when they stumble. I
also like to have fun and
believe that humor is a necessary
ingredient in any success.
I
hold a BA in Psychology,
a Masters Degree in Counseling,
and am a graduate of the
Integral Coaching Program
of New Ventures West in San
Francisco. I
am also a member of the International
Coach Federation and the Puget
Sound Coaches Association.
“I
had reached a point of
total burnout and didn't
even realize it. My
coach, Mary Ann, was a
lifesaver. She guided
me to a new way of looking
at things, gave me some
very practical tools to
utilize in my life, and
most importantly, held
me accountable. Mary
Ann was able to get me
unstuck so that I could
begin to dream again and
think about all the new
possibilities in my life. I
am currently transitioning
to a new and very exciting
job. I also am taking
more time for myself and
am having a lot more fun
with life.”
